August 19th - 1:00 AM [/size] [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 420px; padding: 0px; border-top: 20px solid #151515;][bg=2e4461] [style=background-color: 808080;position: relative; padding: 2px; font-family: georgia; font-size: 19px; color: #000000; text-align: center; letter-spacing: -2px; opacity: 0.8]i bleed for you It was good to get away sometimes. Especially for him. It was hard for him sometimes, always being surrounded by humans. Like happy meals on legs. His maker didn't understand why he cared so much. But Arcturus was an older vampire, he didn't see what was wrong about feeding on humans. It was just something that was always done. Cael tucked his hands into his jacket pocket, well manicured nails tucked in against his palm as he stood on the pass overlooking the river through the park. He leaned forward, staring down into the water. He was not at all at home here. He wanted to go back to his family. To his brother. He'd thought he'd saw his brother earlier that day, it was why he was currently here instead of in school. It couldn't be true though, no, it was impossible. His brother wasn't anywhere near here, it was his only salvation.
Cael pulled his hands from his pockets to lean against the rail of the bridge and bowed his head slightly, resting his head on his hands slowly. He closed his eyes, clasping his fingers tightly, not seeming to notice or care that he was digging his nails into the back of his hand enough to leave small cuts. He slowly inhaled, taking in the fresh scents from the water beneath him, and opened his eyes. Keen eyesight could see straight through the water to the fishes that darted through the clear liquid. His scent was disrupted through by a breeze carrying forth a scent that was all-to-inviting. His eyes closed, his canines slowly lengthening... no! His eyes snapped open and he forced himself to retract his fants as he stood up. He turned rapidly, eyes fixing on the one person that he was not prepared to see.
How had the other male found him?! Had he really been in that classroom that morning? He could still make out the sounds from the college campus where he was, though it was likely not loud enough for human ears. He stared into the eyes of his twin brother. He fought the urge to lunge forward, throw his arms around the other male and potentially crush him. He wasn't very good at controlling himself when his emotions were high. He clenched his teeth, fighting the urge to allow himself this loss of control. "Cooper..." he whispered softly, falling prey to his emotion. Sadness washed over his features and he took a step forward slightly, arms slowly coming out, though he was unsure if his brother would welcome his touch.
Would Cooper realize that he was different now? How could he not? They were twins? They'd grown up together. Yet he had grown during the past two years, in ways that Cooper could not, did not know. "Oh, Nessa..." he said, his voice cracking slightly as he steppd forward again, pulling the other male into a hug and pressed his face into the other's throat. He inhaled the sharp scent of his brother, and his hunger rose to the forefront. His fangs lengthened again, and his lips parted, teeth grazed across the skin of the other's throat before slowly and easily piercing the flesh-
Cael jerked upright in his bed. A dream. It had all been some kind of nightmare. The event from that morning where he'd thought he'd seen Cooper was getting to him. But then, why was he so compelled to leave? He had found where Cooper's look-alike was earlier that day. Dare he risk it? He turned to look at the male asleep beside of him. He slid from the bed he begrudingly shared with his maker, and dressed quickly, moving out of the house and towards the college campus. It wasn't hard to find the window of the room, and it was even less hard to leap to the sill, finding purchase on the narrow ledge and staring inside. He had a room to himself, at least there was that. He reached out, sliding the window open slowly, and dropped silently into the room.
At least he thought it was silent. Until he heard the voice of the male in the bed ask who was there. He froze. Even the voice was an exact match to his Cooper. He just needed to see him. Look into his eyes. His keen eyes found the face of the male in the light of the full moon through the window. "It's Cael," he whispered softly. The male was no threat to him. If it was Cooper... it was his brother. If it wasn't... the boy would likely end up dead. Another college student vanishing wouldn't be surprising. He'd simply gone home. Right? [/style]

there was a hand full of people here that he had gotten a little close to since he'd transferred, but in most situations cooper accepted hugs and talked about vague things that no one really cared about, but he still hadn't broken the ice with anyone. no one knew him personally. they knew his silly attitude and the excuses that he supplied, but they didn't know anything about the hurt that he dealt with every day. running the pad of his thumb over the buttons on his cell phone, contemplating calling his brother's old cell phone just to let it go to voicemail and hear his bubbly voice before he went to bed. cooper had convinced his parents to keep the cell phone working, so long as he paid the bill. his parents tried to reason that it was unhealthy, what he was doing, but they understood where he was coming from. in a way, all of them still had a little gimmer of hope that cael would come home. he'd gotten better about doing things like this over time, but one little thing had set him off today. he'd sworn he'd heard that same bubbly voice earlier that day in one of his classes. unfortunately, he figured that his mind was just playing tricks on him again.
in the past few days, he'd seen a face that reminded him so much of his brothers, though there was something slightly different. cooper never got close enough to actually get a good look at the male before he disappeared in to the crowd. he would see the male on the other side of the road or like today, he thought he saw - well no, that was just silly. he tried to reason with himself that he was being ridiculous and that he was simply making himself sick again and he was starting to feel like total shit because of it. burying his face in to his pillow as he pulled his sheet up around his waist further, cooper felt the tears sting at his eyes, his cheeks burning like flames were licking at his insides. he'd reached over to finger one of the little white pills on the table beside of his bed. he'd hoped that he wouldn't need to take a sleeping pill that night, but he knew that he would never get any rest with his mind reeling like this. letting out a sigh and sliding the pill under his tongue, cooper scrunched up his nose at the taste of the pill as it slowly dissolved, though he didn't make any move to get up and get a drink to wash the taste down. he knew that eventually he would be tired enough that his body would just collapse. it was what he was hoping for.
his eyes slid open quickly and darted toward the window - he swore he had closed it - though he wasn't sure if he was just hearing things or if someone was really prowling around. had he dosed off? maybe he was dreaming. he racked his brain for who all could possibly be in his room, though there was one one that he could think of. "who's there?" he asked, though his voice came out a lot more raspy than he'd intended. it was obvious that sleep was still gripping on to him tightly.
the soft voice that answered him washed over cooper like honey, completely soothing. instantly he stilled, terrified of moving, though he wasn't entirely sure why he was so afraid. this was his brother... right? he wanted to laugh at himself for how ridiculous he was acting. this - he was a dream! it had to be a dream. the thought was both painful and relaxing at the same time. "cael?" he asked, his voice thick with confusion and haze that was left over from the fog of the drug he'd taken just a short while before. he'd had dreams like this before, though not in a very long time. he hadn't had a dream of cael for months, though he welcomed them now. obviously if cooper couldn't have his brother while he was awake, he would welcome seeing him in his dreams. "well... um." he started, sitting up slowly, bringing his fists up to rub his eyes before glancing back toward where he figured his brother was at. what an odd dream. "what are you doing? why are you all the way over there?" |

But the voice belied the tone. Cael knew that voice all to well, it was ingrained into his memory. Cael called Cooper's phone at least once a week to hear his voice. He missed his brother so damn much. It hurt his heart just to know that the other male was just so close! He took another step forward towards him before stopping himself. He shouldn't let himself get to close. He couldn't trust himself. He clenched his hands into fists as the other male spoke and sat up in his bed. Cael's eyes roamed over the other's form slowly. Whoever mistook them for one another could not be any more blind. Cooper was perfection. Even human he was still more perfect than Cael could ever hope to be. He was flawed. Flaws he hid with make-up and flashy clothes. Anything to distract from the imperfections.
And then Cooper was talking again, rubbing at his eyes and trying to see through the dark. Cael watched as the other asked what he was doing, why was he all the way over by the window? Cael looked down briefly before raising his gaze. "I had to come see you..." he said softly. But he didn't trust himself to get any closer. He didn't know how long he could resist the temptation though. The urge to embrace his twin and never let him go again was almost overwhelming. "I've missed you so much, Nessa," he whispered, his voice cracking just slightly as his keen eyes watched his brother through the darkness. He slowly moved forward towards the other male. He paused slightly at the foot of the other's bed, still a safe enough distance, he thought.
"You shouldn't have come here, Cooper," Cael whispered softly. No, if his maker found out, there was no telling what he may do to Cooper. That was one of his maker's strict rules: no one from your past. It posed a risk to the secrecy statute. But Cael couldn't help himself, Cooper was right there in front of him. How could he not make contact? That was probably why his maker had taken him so far from home initially. He watched the other male carefully, wondering why Cooper had to come here of all places. He moved forward towards the other male, slowly giving in to his desire to be near the other male and curling up against him, wrapping his arms around the other male.
He held his breath, unwilling to actually attempt to inhale the other's scent. His self-control wasn't that good. He rest his head on the other's shoulder gently. "I've missed you so much," he whispered softly, closing his eyes slightly as he tried to keep his grip as loose as he could, only laying his arm across the other male. He didn't want to crush him, after all. "Oh, Nessa..." Such warmth. His Nessa was always warm, it was one reason why he'd always liked snuggling with him. He radiated warmth. He clenched his teeth, fighting the natural urge for his fangs to descend. No... he had to maintain himself. He pulled back slightly to look at the other male. He looked so different. His brother had aged the two years, changed his hair and even looked a little worn around the eyes. What had time done to his Nessa? Would he still be the same? [/style]

"well... i mean, you're seeing me now, aren't you? i'm right here." he said, pulling his eyebrows together in confusion, though he couldn't help but feel as if this is how cael would react to seeing him again if this had been real. if he was alive and healthy and himself. cooper had long since given up on the idea of his brother being happy wherever he was, though he was sure that his brother was dead in some ditch somewhere. bodies could be found, but the living could disappear forever. why wouldn't cael come home if he was alive? he often racked his brain for what he could have possibly done to make his brother go away and not want to come back. he wasn't entirely sure what to think or say at the other male's confession of missing him. the pet name that dream cael called him felt like a knife in his chest, making it harder to breath properly, though he reminded himself that this was all a dream. he could enjoy this and not feel guilty tomorrow for the things his imagination came up with. "i missed you too, mecki. i haven't seen you in a long time." he responded honestly, though he forced his rapid breathing to slow and tried to blink away the tears that pooled in his eyes.
cooper forced out an awkward sounding laugh at his brother's words about not being there, though he wasn't sure how much he liked the words that he heard. warning bells rang loud in his head as his eyes started to slowly focus in the dark. why would dream cael say something like that? maybe this was his subconscious telling him that he wasn't happy here... or that he was starting to finally let himself relax without his brother. the idea made him feel guilty, but he pushed the lump in his throat down enough to crack a crooked smile. "you know me. i'm always doing things i shouldn't." he said, trying to make this scary-sad dream take a turn that was a little less scary and sad. there was a sense of awkwardness that hung between the two of them and honestly, cooper hated that feeling. this was his twin brother, his best friend. even if this was just a dream, he knew he shouldn't feel weird with cael.
his eyes wandered over the other male's body shamelessly as he moved closer. for once, he didn't even bother to hide the fact that he was checking another person out. this was a dream, after all. he'd done so much worse to this male in his dreams, shamelessly checking his brother out was nothing by this point. at first he'd felt guilty when he woke up from a erotic dream of his missing brother and actually felt a little disgusting. now it was just something that he was used to... he welcomed the dreams, even. if he had let himself be less of a coward before cael had disappeared, maybe his dreams wouldn't have to be dreams. the idea made him want to close his eyes in both frustration and excitement. he smiled to himself as dream cael curled up next to him after what seemed like forever. cooper could see the worry in his eyes, though it wasn't as easy as it used to be. would he still be able to read his real brother if and when he found him?
cooper let out a sigh through his nose as he wrapped his arms tightly around the smaller male's waist, pulling him flush against his chest in an almost possessive embrace, though there was nothing controlling or mean about the action. "i know, baby." he said softly, running the end of his nose over the other male's skin. it was amazing to him how realistic this dream felt compared to the other ones. sure, the other ones felt real to some extent, but in this one, he almost felt as if he were actually holding his little brother. the thought made his mood fall slightly, depression over the injustice kicking in for a few seconds before his mood lifted once again. he brushed his lips over his brother's cheekbones lightly as if he could kiss away the sadness that overtook his eyes. "shh. you're fine. we're fine." he cooed softly, nuzzling against the male in his arms gently. "why are you all dressed anyway? i mean, really? are you going somewhere?" the words were supposed to come out sounding laid back and a little silly, but they came out a lot more choked than he meant it to. |

How on earth was he being so... calm? It was almost like Cooper didn't care that he was there, like he wasn't surprised or at all emotional about this reunion. Did Cooper not really miss him? "That's not what I meant and you know it, Nessa," he whispered softly, watching his brother carefully. "I couldn't just... let it go." How could he just forego seeing his brother when he was so close? What kind of temptation was that? If it was a test from his sire, then he'd happily fail. And then there was the nickname. If Cael needed any more proof that this was, in fact, his brother, there it was. He gave a faint smile to the other. "I know... and I'm sorry about that. I wanted to come sooner, really I did... but He wouldn't let me." |
[/color] He shook his head ever-so-slightly. When the other gave a slight laugh and then said he was always doing things he shouldn't, Cael closed his eyes slightly. "But this time, it could equal your death, Nessa. I don't want anything to happen to you..." He didn't want Magnus to kill him, which was an entirely plausible scenario. His maker didn't understand why Cael was so revolted by feeding from humans. It was the natural way of vampires. While Cael had to admit that the blood tasted sweeter, that he loved the chase, it wasn't him, it was the demon inside of him. He never wanted to hurt anyone. He wasn't the kind of person to wish harm on anyone else. Cael's eyes opened and he tried to remain still while Cooper looked him over, wondering if Cooper was noticing that his posture was a little straighter, his skin a little healthier, his hair more lustrious... but it was dark. Surely Cooper couldn't notice the subtle changes in his physical appearance? The feeling of Cooper's arms around him was so good. His scent intoxicating, his warmth contagious. Would Cooper realize that he was just a little colder to the touch than he himself was? And then Cooper was nuzzling against him. It was an uncommon action, usually he was the nuzzler and Cooper the comforter. And then Cooper was kissing his cheeks, soothing his sadness. He heard the rhythmic beat of Cooper's heart, his pulse throbbing against his face resting against Cooper's throat, begging him to sink in his fangs. He clenched his teeth, closing his eyes once more as the other stated that they were fine. He only wished. Cooper was in so much danger and he didn't even know it. "I hope you're right, Nessa," he whispered softly before the other asked why he was all dressed. He pulled away to look up at the other male, tilting his head slightly. "I came to see you. Surely you don't expect me to walk across town and across the campus in not but my underthings, do you?" He rested his head back on the other's shoulder. "Why do you ask? Would you rather I was wearing less?" What that could possibly mean didn't really strike Cael's mind. Why would Cooper expect him to be less-dressed? He wasn't sure. Maybe because if he was less dressed he'd be less inclined to leave. That must be it. Well, if that's what Cooper wanted, despite Cael's warnings that he was in danger, then Cael would gladly do so.[/div][/style] WORDS - 601 - OUTFIT - here - TAG - cooper [/style][/td][/tr][/table][/size] table credited to madame marianna @ caution 2.0[/center][/size]
